Pastor Sheryl Carrierre
Pastor Sheryl Carriere grew up in Northwest Minnesota in Middle River, a small town of about 300 people. She taught in rural farming communities of North Dakota for about 8 years and spent a year and a half teaching in Australia.
In 1986, she moved to Texas to teach school in McAllen.
In the early 2000’s, while Sheryl was serving as a Sunday School teacher, the Pastor asked her if she would do ministry training. She accepted the challenge and began her classes, but after a while she had to leave Texas and return to Minnesota to help care for her mother. Sheryl was able to finish her ministry training while living in Minnesota and served several churches part time and/or as pulpit supply while there.
In 2017, Sheryl returned to Mission, Texas to live. She helped as part time interim supply at Bethel from 2018-2019, and also served a Lutheran church in Mission, Texas.
In 2021, she helped out again as part time supply at Bethel and accepted a contract to serve Bethel in early 2022.
Sheryl was officially ordained as a pastor of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ, or LCMC, on September 18, 2022.
The people of Bethel Lutheran feel very blessed to have Sheryl as our Pastor!
One of Pastor Sheryl’s favorite passages from the bible is: Proverbs 3: 5-6
5Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight.
6In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
